====== Installation-instructions ====== //Last updated: ~~LASTMOD~~ // In this document you will find all necessary instructions on how to install, use and customize your template to fit your store’s needs. Please note that the Sigyn SM-theme is a 100% FREE Magento template and so we unfortunately dont offer any support of it. ===== What you will need before your start ===== * If your operating system doesnt already have it integrated, you will need a ZIP-tool to unzip your goods. We recommend WinRAR or WinZIP. * To transfer your template over to your Magento-installation you'll need an FTP-tool (or SCP if you're too cool for FTP). We recommend WinSCP, SmartFTP or Total Commander. * And last, some basic computer knowledge is always good to have, although installing our templates is far from brain-science. \\ ===== General Installation instructions ===== * First, open up the ZIP-file and transfer the app- and skin-folders directly to your Magento installation. * Log in to your Magento Admin-area and go to ”System” -> ”Design”. Click on ”Add Design Change” in the upper left corner. Select "custom design" and choose the name of your theme in the dropdown menu. Click "save". Your template is now active (if it doesnt show up immediately try to Disable the Cache in Admin -> System) * The template is active but your template includes more functionality which needs to be configured to make it work 100%. First we need to set up the ”Customer-center” links on the top right of the template. The first thing you must do is to add a new ”Static block” called ”customercenter”. Go to ”CMS” - ”Static blocks” in the Admin-area. Add a new Static block with the following information: | **Block title** |Customer-center (or whatever you want it to be called) || | **Identifier** | customercenter (must be exactly like this, with no uppercase or spaces) || | **Status** | Enabled || **Content:** Of course this is just an example. Type in whatever links and names you like in the Content-field. * To make the Customer-center links work you must create a CMS-page for each of them (CMS -> Manage pages). The CMS-pages must be identified by the names you typed in the Static block, for example ”faq” or ”conditions”. Remember that you can use full HTML inside the CMS-pages, but we recommend that you dont get too creative. Keep things simple. * So, how do I change the logo? The easiest way is to transfer a new logo.gif to the /skin/frontend/default/sigyn-smtheme/images-folder. The logo should be around 300px width and 100px high to fit nicely. If you make it too large it might mess up the design and the main menu - so try until you get it perfect. Also remember to upload your own logo_email.gif and logo_print.gif to the images-folder. These logos are used when you create PDF-invoices, when the customer received their order-confirmation, etc. ===== Want to do more customization? ===== The template is very easy to customize.
